I rode a taxi to the airport this morning. The "taxi" was really more of a shuttle bus, an oversize van with a center aisle and steps, and it had a video screen for entertaining passengers. This is how I got to see part of Snakes on a Plane.
I'm guessing the movie was the driver's selection. Because everybody loves to watch frontal nudity in the company of strangers. Um. Actually I don't know why anyone would think that was a good idea.
Anyway, because of the sleet and freezing rain, all the flights from here to Chicago have been canceled. I have re-booked and a day of unexpected spare time, not counting the six hours spent in the airport.
One final comment. Balance training is really useful. It's surprising how unscary an ice-glazed rain-slicked sidewalk becomes when you know how to stay upright and how to fall.
